Practical management works in Kalviai gravel pit SPA

The project staff implemented nature management works – removal of vegetation on the islands of the Kalviai gravel pit SPA. Breeding habitats were abandoned, however terns returned to Kalviai and 63 pairs of Common Tern and 24 pairs of Little Tern were registered this breeding season. It is expected that population will remain stable or even increase next year. More information on Gediminas Petkus video
