Practical conservation actions in Kalviai gravel pit and Novaraistis ornithological reserve

During January and February, the project staff of the Coordinating beneficiary Lithuanian ornithological society has performed practical conservation actions on the islands of the Kalviai gravel pit and Novaraistis ornithological reserve.
Woody vegetation was removed with the brush cutters. The reeds were also partly removed from the area, thus the suitable habitats for breeding terns and other rare birds were created.
