Nature management activities in lake Niedus

The Lithuanian Ornithological Society has been implementing the EU LIFE Project Adjustment of key stakeholders’ capacity for improvement of Common and Little terns conservation status in Lithuania, No. LIFE17 NAT/LT/000545. The main objective of the Project is to improve breeding population condition of Common and Little terns in sites designated for their protection through adequate maintenance of their habitats and application of other important measures for the species. For this purpose, in early February this year maintenance work is carried out on lakes Niedus and Veisiejai (LTLAZB001).
Reeds are removed partially forming sites for Common terns.
