Lithuanian Ornithological Society at the Green ideas’ festival

The LOD staff participated at the Green ideas’ festival, which was initiated by the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda, on 5th of June at the Presidential Palace. Our NGO had a unique opportunity to present initiatives implemented by the LOD among the administrations of protected areas and representatives of other green NGOs to the decision makers and visitors of the event.
The event was attended by the important guests from the European Commission, including Vice-president Frans Timmermans, leading the Commission’s work on the European Green Deal and its first European Climate Law as well as Virginijus Sinkevičius, the European Commissioner for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries. During the event President Gitanas Nausėda and Mr. Frans Timmermans signed a declaration of the green Lithuania.
Director of the LOD presented and discussed project and activities, implemented by the LOD, with a high-level officials. He also underlined important role of the EU co-funded projects to the Lithuanian biodiversity and nature.
